Vitamins grow hair

Vitamins grow hair. Even when aging and genetics are slowing down the production of hair follicles on the scalp, adding vitamins to the diet can help reverse hair loss.

Vitamin A
Vitamin A helps grow hair because it is part of the nutrition needed by the scalp. Vitamin A, long added to skin creams and hair products, helps create retinoic acid.

Vitamin B
Stress is one of the causes of hair loss, and the B vitamins combat stress. Usually taken a a group in a B Complex supplement, individual B vitamins also help hair grow. B12 is part of the hair shaft and needed for hair growth, as is inositol. Research has shown that inositol an speed the growth of hair.

Vitamin C
Vitamin C is another vitamin that has been used in hair and skin products because it, also, is a component of healthy hair. Vitamin C is needed on a daily basis, as humans cannot manufacture their own vitamin C, as most other animals do. Adding vitamin C to the diet can reverse hair loss.

Vitamin D
Vitamin D has now been classified as a hormone. It functions as a master nutrient to drive the function of many systems in the body. Vitamin D deficiency can cause hair to fall out, and replacing vitamin D will help hair regrow.

Vitamin E
Vitamin E stimulates the hair follicles and helps hair to grow.

Adding healthy fruits and vegetables is a good way to add vitamins to the diet, but supplements can guarantee that these healthy nutrients are getting into your body to help grow hair.

  1. I couldn't agree more Melanie, all very true. I use vitamins along with a healthy diet; after suffering some hair loss following major surgery!
